ABOUT MY PROCESS
Before anything is ever built, it first has to be imagined. Regardless of the item being built i.e., a car, a boat, house or
a metal sculpture, it is important to have a plan.
When I imagine a new concept for a metal sculpture, I transfer the idea to a piece of paper. Then I measure
everything to come up with a plan. By having everything measured a plan that is done to scale, it doesn't matter if the
finished piece needs to be 17 inches tall, or 17 feet tall. All I need to do is change one number in a spread sheet and
it calculates the dimension for every component within the plan. This is important when you are trying to fit a piece of
sculpture to a specific environment for something that will be around for a long time. If what you want something
temporary... use tape. It you want it to last forever WELD IT!
